The Ohio Tattoo Museum isn’t your standard art gallery.

Located right here at Bicknee in Bidwell, Ohio, the museum is dedicated to preserving the art, machines, flash, stories and characters that helped build modern tattooing. The collection reaches back to the early days of electric tattooing and pays respect to the men and women who pushed the craft forward.

You’ll find vintage tattoo machines, original flash, photographs, tools, artwork and other pieces of tattoo history from a time when tattooing lived a little farther outside the mainstream.

Rich T. has spent decades tattooing, building machines and collecting the history of the trade. What started as a collection of tattoo-related artifacts grew into the Ohio Tattoo Museum—a place to keep that history alive and pass it along to the next generation of tattooers and curious folks alike. The museum’s collection includes material connected to influential tattooers and historic collections, including the Del Cook collection.

Tattooing has changed plenty over the years. The equipment gets better, styles come and go, and what was once underground now sits squarely in popular culture. But knowing where the craft came from still matters.
